A History of Vedic Literature
Introduction
Vedic literature is the body of texts composed in ancient India that form the foundation of Hindu religion and philosophy. Composed in Sanskrit, these texts were orally transmitted for centuries before being written down. The Vedic literature can be broadly classified into four Vedas: Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda, each serving a distinct purpose in the religious practices of ancient India.
