The Panchabhuta Theory, also known as the Five Elements Theory, is a fundamental concept in ancient Indian philosophy and Ayurveda. It posits that the universe and all living beings are composed of five basic elements, or “bhutas.” These elements are:
- Prithvi (Earth): Represents solidity and stability. It is associated with qualities like heaviness, density, and firmness. It is seen in all that is solid in the physical world, such as bones and muscles in the human body.
- Apas or Jala (Water): Represents fluidity and cohesiveness. It is linked to qualities such as liquidity, softness, and coolness. In the human body, it is reflected in bodily fluids like blood, lymph, and saliva.
